Attorney honored by Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women
RALEIGH – Smith Moore LLP attorney Beth Trahos has received a Champions Award for Networking by the Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (Triangle CREW). Trahos received the award for her work with the Builders of Hope North Carolina organization.
Trahos' group was comprised of several members of the Triangle real estate community who worked to promote Builders of Hope NC, which facilitates partnerships between the business community, humanitarian organizations and local government to create home ownership, education and career opportunities for working families whose income is below the media level. Builders of Hope created a subdivision in south Raleigh by recycling homes that were scheduled to be demolished. "It's an honor to receive this award from an organization that so many professionals throughout the Triangle commit their time and efforts toward," said Trahos. "Even more, this award represents the hard work and dedication of a group of people involved with an outstanding community resource in Builders of Hope."
The Triangle CREW Networking Award is presented annually in recognition of a networking experience that most clearly exemplifies the goals and purposes of Triangle CREW. The CREW organization is comprised of various women involved in real estate, including attorneys, realtors, architects and bankers, who meet routinely to build relationships in the Triangle through networking, committee work and mentoring.
A member of Smith Moore's land use and government relations practice team, Trahos represents developers, builders, local governments, and advocacy groups in land use and municipal issues. She is also town attorney for Rolesville, NC, and serves as Chair of the Wake County Planning Board and is on the board of the NC Municipal Attorneys' Association. Trahos is a graduate of the University of Richmond (Va.) and the University of Richmond School of Law, and holds a graduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
