Smith Moore LLP is proud to announce The Smith Moore LLP Scholarship, a minority scholarship program. The program is designed to promote law school opportunities for outstanding minority students and to enhance the likelihood that minority law school graduates will practice law in Georgia, North Carolina or the Southeast, particularly in larger law firms.
Smith Moore will award two $5,000 per year law school scholarships to outstanding minority students with Georgia or North Carolina ties who are entering law school in fall 2003 and who anticipate practicing law in the Southeast after graduation. Applications are due to Smith Moore by March 30, 2003. Finalists will be invited for interviews and the scholarship recipients will be announced in May.
In addition to the award of scholarship funds, each scholarship recipient also will work in one or more of the Smith Moore offices as a summer associate following their first year of law school. Scholarship recipients are not required to work for Smith Moore after their second year of law school or after graduation, although the law firm may extend to the recipient a return offer for summer associate employment, or an offer of associate employment after graduation.
