Lisa Garrison and David Kyger have been elected to the Smith Moore partnership, based on the outstanding practices they have developed within the firm. Lisa Garrison is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Practice. Her practice focuses on antitrust, medical products liability and medical services. She has substantial experience with complex product liability and antitrust litigation, including national back screw litigation, fen/phen litigation, and monopoly and monopsony cases. She also regularly counsels clients on how to ensure antitrust compliance and how to evaluate possible antitrust litigation.
David Kyger is an attorney in the firm’s Business Practice. He has focused his practice on nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations and he serves as counsel to numerous public charities and private foundations. He has extensive experience in the formation of nonprofit entities, application for recognition of exemption, compliance with private foundation rules, preserving tax-exempt status and avoiding intermediate sanctions. His experience also includes compliance with public disclosure requirements, registration with solicitation licensure administrators, Web-based solicitations of charitable contributions, and the structuring of joint ventures involving exempt and non-exempt organizations.
Kyger has provided assistance to the following types of tax-exempt entities: hospitals, medical research organizations, trade associations, community colleges, colleges, universities, parochial schools, private schools, charter schools, social welfare organizations, homeowners associations, churches and various governmental units.
