Mary is a member of the firm's litigation practice group. She handles a variety of cases in state and federal court, including general insurance law, contract disputes, products and premises liability actions and life insurance and financial services litigation, including ERISA. She also practices in the regulatory and administrative arena in the areas of healthcare provider licensing, facility licensing and certificate of need. Mary is also a member of the firm's "Benefit Corporation Team." The "B Team" focuses on exploring and serving the legal needs of aspiring or existing "benefit" or "B Corp" companies –for-profit businesses that seek to better the world through identified social missions and by focusing on sustainability and TPL/3BL (the "triple bottom line" pillars of profits, people, and planet.)
Prior to joining Smith Moore Leatherwood, Mary clerked for the Honorable Judge Roger M. Young of the Circuit Court of South Carolina from 2011-2012. She earned her law degree from the Charleston School of Law in 2010, where she was the Senior Articles Editor of the Federal Courts Law Review.
