GREENSBORO, NC — The Triad Business Journal's list of the brightest and most promising young business executives in the Triad region once-again includes attorneys from Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP. Patti West Ramseur, a partner and member of the firm's labor and employment and civil litigation practice groups, and Frankie T. Jones, Jr., a member of the firm's real estate and litigation groups, were included in the "40 Under Forty" class of 2010.
Ramseur's practice includes the representation of management in employment claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies. In addition, she frequently advises clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws and litigates employment and other civil disputes.
Ramseur recently completed her term as chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the North Carolina Bar Association and as a member of the North Carolina Bar Association's Executive Committee, and continues to serve in a number of other leadership roles within the Bar Association. Within the community, she volunteers with the Women's Resource Center and is a member of the personnel committee of the Carolina Theater. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the Wake Forest University School of Law.
Jones represents clients in matters before planning boards and boards of adjustment and is an active member of the firm's alcohol and tobacco regulatory teams. Locally, he is a member of Action's Greensboro's synerG Council of young professionals and is a member of the Steering Committee for the Friends of Center City Park. Jones is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Virginia School of Law.
According to the Triad Business Journal, winners of the 40 Under Forty award were selected for their business success, in addition to the ways they better the Triad region through civic and community efforts. The winners were chosen by a judging panel and honored during an awards dinner on February 25.
