Mona O’Bryant is Recognized at The Business Journal’s Fifth Annual Award Luncheon

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Smith Moore LLP announces Partner Mona O'Bryant’s receipt of The 2004 Women in Business Award.  The Women in Business awards will be presented at The Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area’s fifth annual luncheon on November 23rd.  Honorees will be featured in the fifth annual Women in Business publication, which highlights the winners' motivations, challenges and the characteristics that distinguish them from their peers.

"This prestigious recognition serves as a testament to Mona's talents and accomplishments as a strong leader in the community," said Steve Earp, managing partner for Smith Moore.  "On behalf of the Greensboro team, I would like to congratulate her on receiving this honor.  We are proud to support her as a sponsor of the award luncheon."

O'Bryant, a member of the environmental and administrative practice area, focuses on environmental compliance, planning and permitting, business and real estate transactions, and facility auditing.  She has significant experience in regulatory compliance issues, including wetland and stream permitting and mitigation, solid and hazardous waste management facilities, obtaining local approvals, sediment and erosion control issues, underground storage tank and water quality issues.

A civic leader in the Greensboro community, O'Bryant serves on the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army of Greensboro, as well as the Board of Directors for Greensboro Beautiful, Inc.  She also chairs the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope.  She is a member of the Section Council of the Environmental Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Natural Resources Section of the American Bar Association.  O'Bryant earned her bachelor’s degree from Alderson-Broaddus College and her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
