Atlanta, Ga. – Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP is pleased to announce that attorneys J. Robert Persons and Robert B. Wedge have been selected to the 2017 Georgia Super Lawyers list for their high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.
Persons is a partner and member of the firm's litigation practice group. He focuses his practice on transportation, construction, product and professional liability cases, directors' and officers' liability cases, and both insurers and policyholders in complex insurance coverage litigation. He served on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia for 15 years and currently serves on the State Bar's Disciplinary Review Panel. He is a Foundation Fellow of the State Bar of Georgia, and is a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, DRI and IADC. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Wedge is a member of the firm's management committee and is the partner in charge of the Atlanta office. He is an experienced trial lawyer who engages in litigation involving construction contracts and claims, commercial contracts and leases, professional liability claims involving attorneys, architects and engineers, insurance coverage and surety bond disputes, and personal injury, wrongful death and property damage claims. He is also an experienced appellate lawyer. His current and former professional affiliations include the Georgia State Bar (current board member of the Professional Liability Section), the Atlanta Bar Association (former Chair of the ADR Section), the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia (Fellow), the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the American Bar Association (longtime member of the Construction Law Section and the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee). He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.
