David Hodge has assisted Firm clients in achieving their business goals for over 25 years. For many of his clients, David acts as their general counsel and trusted advisor. Much like an in-house attorney, he provides overall strategic legal advice and integrates the services of other Smith Moore Leatherwood professionals as well as non-legal advisors in the overall planning process.  In addition to providing general business advice to a variety of private corporations and limited liability companies, he has extensive experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the financial industry.

David has helped clients in a variety of business matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, contract review, restructurings and financings, together with real estate matters such as property acquisition, leasing and financing. These matters have ranged in size and complexity from the formation of single-member, single-purpose limited liability companies to multi-national, multi-currency financings in excess of $100 Million.
