Financial and Business Transactions

Overview

As with most highly-regulated industries, financial and business transactions in the health care industry have different challenges than similar transactions in less-regulated environments. What would otherwise be a perfectly reasonable agreement between businesses could in fact be prohibited by the layers of proscriptive law and regulation that sit atop the business of health care. As experienced health care transactions counsel, we apply our knowledge of traditional business transactions to this regulated industry in order to help our clients succeed.

From incorporating start-up medical practices to merging multi-hospital systems, our attorneys routinely assist our clients in a vast array of financial and business transactions. Our health care lawyers also have the knowledge and experience to handle all types of acquisitions and dispositions of health care facilities, financings and workouts for health care facilities, and leasing and management arrangements.  On a regular basis, we handle practice start-ups for corporations and partnerships, corporate reorganizations, the formation and syndication of ambulatory surgical centers, mergers, sales, acquisitions, and the development of all types of health care facilities, from hospital and nursing home facilities to freestanding emergency departments and radiation therapy centers.
