Olivia Fajen is a member of the firm's Litigation Practice Group. Her practice includes medical malpractice, labor and employment, antitrust, and life, health and disability claims. Olivia also has experience in the defense of contract disputes among healthcare providers. In addition, Olivia is a member of the firm's Benefit Corporation & Other Socially Responsible Companies Team. The "B Team" focuses on exploring and serving the legal needs of aspiring or existing "benefit" or "B Corp" companies –for-profit businesses that seek to better the world through identified social missions and by focusing on sustainability and TPL/3BL (the "triple bottom line" pillars of profits, people, and planet.). Olivia is an experienced equestrian and is familiar with the legal issues important to horse owners and horse facilities.
Prior to joining Smith Moore Leatherwood, Olivia received a B.A. from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with high honors and distinction, and was captain of the women's polo team. Olivia earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2014. While at Duke Law, Olivia served as a research editor on the Duke Environmental Law Policy and Forum, was a member and project leader of the Environmental Law Society, and focused on national security and foreign relations classes offered by Duke's National Security Law program.
