Charlotte, N.C. — Smith Moore Leatherwood is pleased to announce the addition of Brian Litwak as a member of the firm's corporate group in the Charlotte office. Litwak will focus his practice on corporate and regulatory issues.
Litwak will assist clients in the tobacco product and alcoholic beverage industries on compliance, excise tax and business issues that arise under federal statutes and under the regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Additionally, he will advise clients on state laws and regulations applicable to the manufacturing, advertising and distribution of alcoholic and tobacco products.
Litwak received his law degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served as articles editor of the North Carolina Law Review. In 2010, he graduated, cum laude, from Georgetown University with his bachelor's degree. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable William L. Osteen, Jr., United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.
