CHARLESTON, S.C. — G.P. Diminich, a partner in Smith Moore Leatherwood's Charleston office, was recently named as one of The Charleston Regional Business Journal's "40 Leaders Under Forty." This award recognizes outstanding business achievement and the young professionals who are driving success for their employers and investing in their communities by giving of their time and talents.
Diminich is a certified specialist in taxation law as well as a certified specialist in estate planning and probate law, distinctions given by the Supreme Court of South Carolina. He practices in the areas of taxation, mergers and acquisitions, corporations, partnership, limited liability companies, estate planning, probate administration, trusts, tax controversy, real estate planning, state and local taxation, and business incentives. He represents corporate clients on such diverse matters as the purchase and sale of business, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, shareholder buyouts, executive compensation arrangements and business succession planning. He regularly works with individual clients on income and estate planning matters in the formulation and implementation of strategies to reduce taxation, protect and preserve assets, and facilitate the transfer of assets among family members and charities.
As a Paul Harris Fellow of the East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club, Diminich makes Rotary a priority in his philanthropy to advance goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty around the globe. Within the community, Diminich is a member of the Daniel Island Business Association, the Community Investment Review Team of the Trident United Way, the Taxation Committee and Small Business Committee of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the Charleston Defense Contractors Association, the Metro Exchange Club of Charleston and the Finance Committee of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a board member of the Charleston Concert Association and on the Board of Directors for the ALS Association, South Carolina Chapter, Inc.
Diminich will be recognized at the "40 Leaders Under Forty" award presentation on April 11 at Alhambra Hall in Mt. Pleasant and will be featured in an upcoming edition of The Charleston Regional Business Journal.The award honors 40 young leaders who have demonstrated significant business achievement and community service.
