Smith Moore Leatherwood Attorney Allyson Labban Named As One Of The Triad Business Journal's "40 Leaders Under Forty"

Award recognizes attorney's professional service and community involvement

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Allyson Jones Labban, a partner in Smith Moore Leatherwood's Greensboro office, was recently named as one of The Triad Business Journal's 2013 "40 Leaders Under Forty." This award recognizes outstanding young professionals who are driving success for their employers and investing in their communities by giving of their time and talents.

Labban focuses her practice on healthcare litigation, including representation of health care providers in certificate of need disputes, medical staff matters, reimbursement appeals, and fraud and abuse investigations. She counsels hospitals, long term care facilities, home health agencies, hospices, and other health care industry members on matters related to corporate compliance, HIPAA compliance, professional licensing, facility licensure, and risk management. She also oversees the firm's Health Care Law Note publication, an e-newsletter for health care providers.

Within the local community, Labban is active in the Greensboro Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club where she serves as an advisory council member and committee chair of member development. She participates in the United Way of Greater Greensboro's Young Leaders program, supporting programs geared toward education, health and wellness, and financial stability.

Labban will be recognized at the "40 Leaders Under Forty" award presentation on Feb. 28 at the Elliott University Center on the campus of UNC-Greensboro. The Triad Business Journal's "40 Leaders Under Forty" award honors 40 young leaders in the Triad who have demonstrated significant business achievement and community service.
